Gstaad’s historic Park Hotel is set to begin an exciting new chapter as it joins the prestigious Four Seasons family. The confirmation, long speculated but unverified until now, marks a significant milestone for the luxury destination and its guests.

Undergoing extensive renovations, the property is slated to reopen as The Park Gstaad, A Four Seasons Hotel, just in time for the 2026/27 winter season. The transformation promises to blend the hotel’s rich history with contemporary elegance, ensuring it remains a cornerstone of Gstaad’s luxury hospitality scene.

An iconic past meets a promising future
The Park Gstaad first welcomed guests in 1910, earning the distinction of being Gstaad’s inaugural fivestar hotel. Over the decades, it has become synonymous with alpine luxury and timeless charm. This legacy is set to continue under the stewardship of Four Seasons, globally celebrated for its impeccable service and refined style.

“As Gstaad’s first luxury hotel, The Park Gstaad holds a special place in the region’s heritage,” says owner Dona Bertarelli, who is spearheading the renovation alongside Squircle Capital. “I am excited to unveil its transformation into a Four Seasons experience, where its legacy meets modern elegance for residents and visitors to enjoy.”

A Masterpiece in the making
The redesign, led by renowned French interior designer Joseph Dirand, will introduce a fresh, modern aesthetic while honouring the alpine setting. Dirand, celebrated for his work at Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club, is set to create interiors that marry sophistication with the hotel’s historic charm.

Once reopened, the hotel will feature 75 exquisitely designed rooms and suites, including a collection of luxury Penthouse Residences available for purchase. Future owners can expect the world-class lifestyle and property management services for which Four Seasons is renowned.

World-Class amenities
The revamped property promises an array of high-end offerings. Guests can look forward to innovative restaurant and bar concepts, a destination spa, and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. For active visitors, there will be ski and bike services, a tennis court, and seasonal amenities such as an ice rink. Enhanced meeting and event spaces, as well as upgraded employee accommodations, underscore the commitment to excellence in every detail.

A boost for Gstaad
The addition of a Four Seasons property is expected to further elevate Gstaad’s status as one of the world’s premier mountain destinations. Known for its stunning landscapes and exceptional year-round activities – from skiing and hiking to cultural and culinary experiences – Gstaad seamlessly blends tradition with modern luxury.

“Gstaad has long been a favourite destination in Europe for luxury travellers, and we are excited to enter this exclusive market with such an exceptional property,” says Bart Carnahan, President of Global Business Development for Four Seasons.

For Gstaad, the news is both a nod to its illustrious past and a step toward an exciting future, ensuring it remains a jewel in the crown of the Swiss Alps.
