Timeless perspectives in black & white: an exclusive exhibition

  10.12.2024 Arts & Culture

At the end of the year, local resident and wildlife photographer Griet van Malderen will showcase some of her most unique black-and-white photographs, created using a blend of rare and exquisite techniques. Each piece tells a story, not just through its subject but also through its medium – crafted in collodion, platinum, and Japanese paper. These techniques lend unparalleled depth, texture, and emotional resonance to every image, making each one a true one-of-a-kind work of art.
The collodion process gives the images a tactile, almost ethereal quality, while platinum printing enhances their tonal richness and permanence.

Japanese paper adds a delicate, organic texture, infusing the photographs with a timeless beauty that merges tradition and innovation. This unique collection will be displayed at Norki, a space that perfectly complements the essence of the art with its stunning furniture and curated design. For this year’s theme, SNOW, the serene and minimalist winter aesthetic serves as the backdrop, creating a harmonious dialogue between the art and the space.
