But let’s not be too hasty in declaring the season over. If anything, these final weeks offer a vibrant opportunity to explore the countryside and make the most of our unique region.
Take, for example, the entrepreneurial spirit of Florian and Luis, the young visionaries behind the Eggli Tea Garten. Their project is a testament to the boundless creativity that flourishes in Saanenland. Not content with merely growing herbs at high altitudes, they are nudging the boundaries of sustainable agriculture and even pioneering a drone community on the mountainside. Their work reminds us that innovation knows no age and that the seeds of tomorrow’s traditions are planted today.
Speaking of tradition, Monique Buri’s exploration of Swiss papercutting in her book “Papier Découpé” brings a fresh perspective to an ancient art form. Her work showcases how historical crafts can evolve, embracing modern interpretations while remaining deeply rooted in the past. This juxtaposition of old and new is a recurring theme in Saanenland, where the echoes of history often provide a backdrop to contemporary creativity.
Cultural fusion was also at the forefront during the recent “Trans-Classics X” event at Eggli Berghaus. The collaboration between the Gstaad Menuhin Festival and Plausch Events brought together classical and electronic music lovers, creating an unexpected yet harmonious blend that left everyone dancing until late. Such events underscore Gstaad’s role as a cultural crossroads, where diverse artistic expressions meet and enrich our communal experience.
Finally, we tested the INEOS Grenadier – and it’s clear that innovation isn’t confined to art and agriculture. This rugged vehicle, tested on our challenging mountain roads, epitomises the adventurous spirit that thrives in Saanenland. It’s not just about conquering the terrain but doing so with style and purpose.
So, as the calendar nudges us toward autumn, let’s remember that summer’s spirit lingers in the air. There is still much to explore, enjoy, and create in Saanenland. And for those who can’t bear to miss out, our app is just a download away, keeping you connected to all the latest happenings.
Here’s to the endless summer!
