"Jeong" exhibition by Yang Soon-Yeal at Hotel de Rougemont & Spa
10.12.2024 Arts & CultureThis winter, ENHAUT brings an extraordinary cultural experience to the Pays d’Enhaut with “Jeong”, an exhibition by renowned Korean artist Yang Soon-Yeal. The exhibit promises to celebrate art, film, music, and workshops, offering an engaging vernissage weekend for all ages.
About the Artist and “Jeong”
Yang Soon-Yeal, born in South Korea in 1959, is celebrated for her deep connection with nature and her exploration of the interplay between colour and form. Her works transcend artistic mediums – spanning painting and sculpture – conveying harmony, solidarity, and resilience. Central to her art is the Korean concept of jeong, a profound emotion encompassing bonds between humans, nature, and society. Yang’s work explores how humanity can reconnect with the environment, bridging the gap between the human and non-human world to foster coexistence.
Event Highlights
The vernissage weekend features screenings of critically acclaimed Korean films, live music performances, and an art workshop for children. Film highlights include “My Beautiful Girl, Mari” and “Oseam”, each echoing themes of love, resilience, and the beauty of nature, resonating with Yang’s artistic philosophy.
