Gstaad New Year Music Festival: Positive Feedback

  21.01.2025 Arts & Culture

The Gstaad New Year Music Festival 2024/25 has concluded another successful chapter. The final concerts took place on Saturday, 11 January, wrapping up 14 days filled with 22 captivating musical events. Performances enchanted audiences at Kapälli Gstaad and the churches in Saanen, Lauenen, and Rougemont.

“We are very satisfied,” said administrative director Çetin Köksal. “Especially with the attendance. Most of the time, the churches were full or nearly full.” Köksal also highlighted a significant achievement: ticket sales increased by approximately 35% this year.

Artistic director Caroline Murat and Köksal were particularly thrilled by the positive feedback from attendees. “Our audience noticed the improvements we implemented this year,” Köksal explained. “They appreciated the numbered seating and praised the festival's enhanced visibility through our advertising and media coverage.” Most importantly, the audience greatly enjoyed the selection of artists and musical performances.

As in previous years, the festival featured a concert at the Gstaad Yacht Club. It also included an event at the "Grande Salle" in Château-d’Oex for the first time. This innovative addition combined a lecture on Olympic medals—awarded for cultural achievements in the early 20th century—with live music performed by a singer and pianist.

“It was a well-rounded festival,” Köksal concluded. “The joy and satisfaction of our audience are our greatest rewards.”
