15 Years of Keeping Saanenland Safe –  and a New Initiative to Give Back

Fifteen years ago, Kathrin and James Otigbah – permanent residents of Saanenland – set out with a clear mission: to provide world-class security solutions while staying deeply connected to the community. Today, Excel Security Solutions is proud to be a trusted name in the region. As we celebrate this milestone, we’re excited to introduce a new initiative – one designed to give back to the community that has supported us along the way.

A community-driven approach to safety
No one can predict the future, but we can prepare for it. Over a decade ago, we recognized that Saanenland’s growing number of luxury boutiques, hotels, and affluent residents would inevitably attract unwanted attention. In response, we launched Gstaad Watch, a forward-thinking, community-based safety initiative. While ahead of its time, the vision remained clear: security should be proactive, discreet, and rooted in the community.

Building on that foundation, we’re proud to introduce CHalert, a neighbourhood-driven security network designed to keep our community safe through proactive security, communication, and collaboration.

As a resident, chalet owner, or business owner, you can join CHalert through different membership options:
– Free – Stay informed with our realtime, rumour-free WhatsApp Community Group, providing alerts on potential threats, suspicious activity, and emergencies.
– Paid Package – Upgrade to one of our paid packages for enhanced security services, including regular property checks, patrol services, and 24-hour standby alarm response for added peace of mind.
– Excel care package – we understand that true security goes beyond traditional protection; it’s about ensuring safety, independence, and well-being. That’s why we created Excel Care, is a package designed specifically to support the elderly and individuals with mobility challenges.

Our services include 24/7 emergency response, welfare checks, medical caregiver assistance, and secure travel companionship, ensuring peace of mind for you and your loved ones. In partnership with SmartLife Care, we provide reliable medical alarm systems and round-the-clock medical call centre protection.

Giving back: Because security is for everyone
True security goes beyond personal protection; it’s about empowering communities. That’s why we created I Am My Bodyguard, a local initiative offering self-protection workshops for children, youth, and women. A portion of the proceeds funds training for underprivileged children and women in Nairobi, Kenya, equipping them with essential self-defence skills.

We also proudly supported the creation of Kickboxing Gstaad, led by one of our long-term agents, Cüneyt Günes, to promote discipline, self-confidence, and personal safety through martial arts.
