Things that make you go "hmmm"
Gstaad has a way of making us pause – whether in admiration, reflection, or sheer curiosity. In this last issue of the winter season, we look at the people, places, and projects shaping our region in ways that make us stop and think.

We explore the evolving landscape of education through the Gudin family’s vision for Le Rosey, where tradition meets the future with AI-driven learning and a bold new campus plan. We also sit down with Fiona Romang-Müllener, who has spent decades teaching the art of cross-country skiing – a sport that is as much about technique as it is about the tranquillity of the landscape.

Elsewhere, transformations continue. Le Grand Bellevue and the Mansard welcome new General Managers while ongoing construction projects redefine the future of skiing in Saanen. In the world of arts and culture, Rougemont unveils ambitious plans for a concert and museum space, and the Sommets Musicaux remind us that music is as much about visual storytelling as it is about sound.

Feeling safe is often taken for granted – until we don’t. For 15 years, Excel Security has quietly watched over the region, ensuring that peace of mind remains part of everyday life in Saanenland. Their latest initiative involves neighbours looking out for one another and staying connected, making security feel less like a service and more like a community effort.

This issue invites you to engage with the changes happening around us. Some may surprise you; others may challenge your perspective. Either way, they all have one thing in common: hopefully, they’ll make you go hmmm.

I wish you a wonderful month of skiing, sun and snow ahead. Enjoy, and see you back in print on the 20th of June; until then, stay tuned for updates here at www.gstaadlife.com
