Green light for cable cars
29.05.2020 CoronavirusIn compliance with the federal government's safety and hygiene measures, Destination Gstaad will open summer operations of the cable cars on Saturday, 6 June 2020 with the Wispile lift. Initially limited to the weekend, most of the cable cars will be in continuous operation from 20 June.
Hiking routes open again
The numerous hikes in the magnificent mountain world provide a lot of variety and fun for all generations. During the summer season, the Horneggli-Rinderberg hikes – an easy mountain hike for families – and the popular routes from Wispile to Lake Lauenen or to Gsteig with their unique panoramic view of the Saanenland are open again.
With its eventful hikes through blooming Alpine meadows and culinary highlights in over 100 restaurants, the destination of Gstaad offers pleasurable moments in the midst of inspiring nature.
Protective measures
"We look forward to opening the cable cars soon for our guests. Compliance with the safety measures has high priority", emphasises Matthias In-Albon, managing director of BDG. "This is the only way we can minimise the risk of infection for our guests and employees and help to ensure that everyone can enjoy the destination of Gstaad to the full."
The transport capacity of the cable cars, which are in operation in summer, is a maximum of eight people per gondola. "This allows us to keep track of the number of people carried per gondola," explains In-Albon. Distance markings on the floor and disinfection facilities will be installed in the time remaining until the opening. Hikers, bikers and outdoor enthusiasts can purchase a summer pass for CHF 250 for adults and CHF 125 for children. This includes the cable cars in the entire destination and throughout the summer season.
