Despite it’s legendary former reputation, the 250-year old landmark has seen several different operators in the past five years—all were unable to maintain the business for various reasons. Long considered a regional gem, the Hotel Bären has struggled with success despite many efforts and attempts to bring in loyal customer base.

With Gsteig suffering deep financial losses last year, according to figures released at the meeting, the community is happy to welcome the Hefti-Felber family and remains optimistic for the future of the Bären.
