Hotelleriesuisse laments that the 50% ratio permitted to be used as second homes is hardly feasible since the use of the remaining 50% poses serious difficulties. A motion that addressed this issue and demanded for permission to convert complete hotels into second homes was turned down earlier this year. According to Hotelleriesuisse, the Council of States is aware of the unfitness of the law as it is now. Members were not ready, however, to revise it so shortly after its inception. The current law will be reconsidered more fully in 2020.
