The gemeinde has also reopened the road to the lake, with times as follows: from 10am to 6pm, Unterschüpfen to Lauenensee is passable on the hour for 15 minutes. In the other direction, from Lauenensee to Unterschüpfen, the road will open on the half hour for 15 minutes.

Despite current warm temperatures, the ice is not expected to melt anytime soon. Yet, the lake will only be open until snow makes it unsuitable for skating, so take advantage of this special winter treat before its too late.
